THANK YOU

I had plans to end this journal when I came into the library today.  I was no longer enjoying writing in it since I didn't seem to have anyone out there reading me.  Of course, I do realize often people read and don't comment...........I do that as well, in others' journals.  But I still wondered if it was really worth coming here anymore to put down a few words here and there.  Then Greg rode in on his gun metal steel steed to save the day, and gave me hope that if I continued writing what was interesting to me, others would read me, and in time, possibly take the time to comment.  THANK YOU once again, Greg, for catching me as I went over the edge of the cliff...........

I have no hot water in my bathroom..........."Why?" you ask.  I have no idea.  I have to go see my landlord and find out.  I have hot water in my kitchen.  Yesterday as I was preparing for work, I took my shower (I had both hot and cold water) and got dressed.  When I went to brush my teeth, I turned on the cold water, and nothing happened.  Then I tried the hot water side, and nothing happened.  Then I turned on the hot and cold water in the very tub I just stepped out of and there was no water.  MMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!

I went into the kitchen to check that water, and nothing.  Thank goodness I got my shower first.  I would have hated being my co-workers if I hadn't taken one, lol.

When I got home from work around 10 pm, I had forgotten about the water situation.  After watching tv, I went into the kitchen, cooked supper, washed up some dishes, and went into my den to eat.  As I was eating it dawned on me that I had run the water in the kitchen, and it was working, both hot and cold.  So I went into the bathroom and turned on the hot water.......nothing.  Not even gurgling.  Then the cold water........it was strong and cold.  Then I checked the bathtub faucet.  Same situation.........cold, but no hot.  MMMMMMMMMM!!!

Some of you might have said I didn't pay my water bill.  But I don't pay for water.  My water, sewage and garbage pickup are free (or included in the small amount of rent I pay).  My landlord is a government official, so I am sure HE has paid the bill.  I didn't really worry too much about this situation, since I don't have to work today (Tuesday) and didn't HAVE to take a shower.  But Wednesday I have to be concerned, since I can't put people I come in contact with in jeopardy...........they would be ok as long as they were upwind, lol.

As I got up this morning and started my day, I checked the water situation again, and it was the same.  But I heard drilling and noises that sounded a little like construction coming from what appeared to be the downstairs.  I didn't see anyone, but I did see a strange car in the drive of the caretaker's house behind mine.  I am wondering if they are working on something that caused them to turn the hot water heater off.  The hot water heater is in a section of the downstairs that is locked and I don't have a key.  So I cannot go down and check it.  So my next step is to go see the landlord and ask him what is going on.  He might be having work done, and they had to shut off the water for a while, and forgot to turn something on.  I hope that is all it is.

I still have to buy tires for my car.  I found some for $14 each, but they are a size smaller than what is recommended for my car.  I think I can still get them, as long as both front tires are the same size.

I also have to buy a CD-Rom or DVD drive for my puter.  I attempted to install a USB connected wireless-G adapter, and my puter wouldn't load or play the installation CD.  I don't want to hire the GEEK SQUAD to come tell me I need a CD drive.  I can install it myself, if I can find out for sure that is all I need.  I am not completely computer hardware dumb.....but I am not a computer whiz either.

The weather has taken a turn for the better here.  It is cool at night, and warm, almost hot, during the day.  Of course, this is Georgia, and we haven't had our official "Ice Storm" yet.  The northern section of Georgia had one last week, but central Georgia hasn't.  So we expect any day now to walk out in our shorts and be hit with the Ice Monster.

I went to the store last week and bought my little furdevil $3 worth of fuzzy balls, rats, etc.  She had a hay day the first night, and now doesn't even touch them.  She is too busy chasing the yarn I am using to make a baby afghan.  A friend, who is also a customer at work, brought me a buggy (shopping cart for non-Georgians) piled high with yarn she had and won't be using since she developed an allergy to them.  There were at least 200 skeins in there.  Some of it is from Richway, which went out of business about 15-20 years ago, lol.  I have finished 2 afghans and a Christmas tree skirt.  I am going to begin another baby afghan tonight.  I don't like crocheting when it is warm out, so have been taking advantage of the cooler nights to crochet and drape the afghan across my lap and legs as I do so.  By the way, the work I do is for sale, so if anyone wants to know what I have, email me and I will send a pic and a price.

Well, for someone who doesn't have anything to say, I have run amok.  Sorry...............

Blame it on Greg...........(weg)

SHOULD I?

i used to enjoy writing in my public journal, but of late, i have so few readers, i wonder if it is worth hanging on.

i realize people have "lives" out there in j-land, but i get "cyber lonely" lol.  i still enjoy reading others' journals, and comment when something strikes me worthy of a comment.  but it continually saddens me to find only one or two comments.

of course, it is my fault, since i have nothing of interest to report on a daily basis.  i don't even know if i have enough readers to offer me any suggestions on what to do to make my journal "read-worthy" again.

so, if anyone out there happens by my pitiful journal, offer up something i can bite into and that will help me improve.  i know when i finally get my computer set up at home (i have to buy a new drive for it) i will be more able to write and post pictures of things that interest others.  meanwhile, i will sit back and see what everyone has to say.

thanks to paula for commenting on my "gay minister" entry.  and always thanks to greg for stopping by and sending me emails regarding my comments.

ok, i will stop dragging you all down now and see what trouble i can get into outside of this library.

so.............if you want to stop by here and leave a comment, do so.  if not, have a great day anyway.

TONI TAGS

i am not sure what happened to my TONI TAGS, but they are gone.  so i have deleted the empty box under my "about me" intro.  if anyone knows what happened to toni and her tags, please let me know..................

SURVEY

due to a recent news event, i have decided to take a survey.  one of our local lutheran ministers was recently asked to step down, then removed from the pulpit, due to his having sought and found a live-in partner.  he is openly gay, and his church has had no problem with that or with his having a partner.  but the lutheran association took him from the pulpit after he and his partner announced their relationship.

my question is this:

SHOULD A MINISTER/PASTOR/PRIEST/ETC. WHO IS OPENLY GAY AND HAS A LIVE-IN PARTNER BE ALLOWED TO PREACH THE WORD OF GOD TO OTHERS.

i have my own views on this matter, but thought it would be interesting to hear what others had to say on the matter.  don't be afraid to state your views one way or another, for i do not judge..........each person has to deal with his or her own feelings, thoughts and beliefs.

her emotions ran wild.............she was hurt, she was angry, she was lost.  she bolted from the house, running crazily through the field, noting suddenly she was barefoot.  the dead grasses and remnants of fallen branches had cut into her feet, causing one to bleed.

but she didn't care.  she didn't care at all.  her blood could spill out over the brown earth until there was none left..............and she wouldn't care.  how could this have happened to her........again?  why was life so cruel to some, but others lived charmed lives?

why should she go on?  what could life possibly hold for her now?  more emptiness?  more heartbreak?  more pain?  there was no comfort in words.........no solace in her tears.

she collapsed to the ground, covered her face with her hands, and wept.

(this entry has no direct meaning, just sprang from my brain and into my hands as i was typing.........so i put it down in print.  it may lead to a story, and it may not.  sometimes poetry hits, sometimes prose.)

BROKE AGAIN

When I woke up this morning, I had $50 in my purse.  Now, I am broke again.  SIGH!  But I did something with part of the money that needed doing badly..............I HAD MY HAIR CUT.  It has been bugging me for some time, but I didn't want to cut it during the winter, since it has been really cold when it gets cold.  So........I had about four inches cut off the back and the top is really short, about an inch long.  Come spring I will probably have it all cut off for the summer.

Guess this isn't exciting to most of you, but I NEVER go to the salon.  I usually try to trim my own hair when it needs a whack here and there, but I felt I deserved it, so gave myself a small after Valentine's Day present.  So..........I would like to take this opportunity to thank ME....................

Hope all had a great Valentine's Day.

COMPLETELY CONFUSED

Ok, it is currently close to 60 degrees here.............and two days ago, the high was around 39 degrees.  Nights were in the teens and twenties, now they are going to be in the mid to upper forties for the next couple of days.  Then, the temps are going to drop again.........into the teens at night, and in the thirties and forties during the day..........

NO WONDER WE ARE ALL SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing to report here, other than the weather and the fact that I am working more.  Friday should be good, since I will be getting my refund back (at least that is what the IRS says) and it is payday.........but dang it, I have to work that day.  But Saturday, watch out...............after paying off a few bills that are haunting me, I am going to Wally World and get a few things I need...............woohooo........shopping road trip.

I wanted to thank Greg for his latest email...........I really needed a smile, well actually, a laugh.............and he came through for me, lol.  (Oh, BTW, Greg, hope you and Jennifer have a GREAT Valentine's Day......WEG)

Wishing everyone out there a HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

BUMMER BUMMER BUMMER

as my last entry stated, i have already done my taxes..............or so i thought.  something went terribly wrong and they didn't go through.  and i didn't find this out till feb. 7, four days later.  so, my return will be later than i had planned on.  they state i should still have it back by the 16th, which is great, but we ARE dealing with the federal government here...........  sheesh.

not much else to report.  it is cold and rainy here, and i have to work today, tomorrow, and sunday.  it would have really been a good day to sleep in, but i had to come here and check my returns to see if they went through this time.  grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  they did, and i am on my way now.

everyone have a great day.

TAXES TAXES TAXES

I finally got my taxes done...............WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!!!  I am filing E-File, so hopefully will get my money back in two weeks.  It is already spent, lol.  I have to pay off the storage unit, move the rest of my furniture into the house, buy a couple of tires for my car, pay the utility bills, pay back a small loan from a friend, get my car tag, pay my car insurance..........dang........I am already into the red and haven't even gotten the refund back yet....... sheeeeeesh..............

My state taxes were done the conventional way.  That way I will have some money coming in later in the month or the first of March.  Sort of a safety net.  Hopefully I will get a nice big juicy steak out of my state refund...............after the bills are paid.

To all of those out there who have loved ones, don't forget Valentine's Day.  It doesn't have to be chocolates and flowers..............just letting the other person know they are loved.

Everyone have a blessed day.......................
