MANY PEOPLE FALL PREY TO ALZHEIMERS EVERY YEAR. AND EACH PERSON WHO DOES IS SOMEONE'S MOTHER, FATHER, SISTER, BROTHER, DAUGHTER, SON, HUSBAND, WIFE...............................
THERE ARE ALSO MANY WHO DO NOT HAVE A LOVED ONE WHO SUFFERS FROM THIS HORRIBLE DISEASE.
I AM ONE OF THOSE LATTER PEOPLE.........I KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAD A LOVED ONE WITH ALZHEIMERS, BUT HAVE NEVER BEEN CLOSE TO THE DISEASE ITSELF. SO WHEN I STARTED READING THE JOURNAL OF A WOMAN WHO WAS LOSING HER YOUNGER SISTER TO THIS DEMON, I BECAME TOTALLY ENGROSSED IN READING IT, DAILY............
I WANTED TO SHARE THAT SAME JOURNAL WITH YOU. IF YOU HAVE A LOVED ONE WHO SUFFERS FROM ALZHEIMERS, THEN YOU WILL KNOW THIS WOMAN'S PAIN. IF YOU DON'T, YOUR HEART WILL STILL BE FILLED WITH SYMPATHY AND LOVE, AND YOUR EYES WITH TEARS.
TO SHARE ANOTHER'S PAIN:

Thatis why I started my journal last year. My grandmother was days from dying from Alzheimers. She dies Aug 1 last year. That was the first picture I ever posted. My Mom I am sure has it also she is nearing 70 and has every excuse in the book as to why she cant function. Stress at work and on and on. She has the chance to slow it down now but no way can she even admit it. She had very harsh words when I tried to get her to even check up on it just becuase its something that is inherited. Its a sad harsh disease. !!!!!!!!!!! Lori
Thanks for sharing this link, before I came to your journal I just wrote about some things that my mother has been going through. That is amazing. I had not even opened your journal yet. Go works in mysterious ways at times. Again, thank you Regina for sharing this link. God Bless You
Sorry for mispelling, God works in mysterious ways. God Bless
Thank you for the link. I lost my Father to Alzheimer's.
I worked in a nursing home for several years. Before applying for the administrative assistant position , I had never stepped foot in a nursing home. It was SO sad to see someone admitted with just mild deminsia and in no time be an empty shell inside. My father passed away one month to the day that I was given that job. In watching those patients - I discovered that my dad was in the first stages ! Id not known when he was living and thought that he was simply a "mean ole man" (I wish Id known)
My grandma had alzheimers. Her heart took her though, before it did. I dont know what iwould have known if she had gotten into the latter stages where she wouldn't have even recognized me. Shes with our Heavenly Father now. God bless, Beckie
When I first started journaling, her journal was quite popular among journalers. She used to post updates on the board. I thought she had stopped writing. Hadn't heard or seen anything from her in a very long time. Thanks for the update.
Alzheimers, I hate hearing that word. My family has been taking care of my ailing grandparents for 2 years now. My Grandmom has had it for 7 years, so it's coming to a close. She has her good days, but it's all medication induced, and with having Parkinson's and Diabetes, it's really taking a toll on her. G-Pop isn't far behind. And to think, they actually had a thing on the AOL welcome screen, on how to live to 100, like we want to drag it out any further?!?!?! The year I came in to this world is how old I want to be when I leave, 76.
Alzheimers is very tough stuff. :( That's the way im gonna go...i know it.
one of my uncles who meant a lot to my entire family and my father and grandfather and his dad, was strickenwith alzheimers disease, he was a good man, but the way the disease acts it robs them of all their memorys and it is a very sad way to die not knowing who you are or what you meant to the people who you touched in their lives. he use to get a big kick out of me and my four brothers because we are of italian decent and when we were kids we use to call spaghetti baasketti he use to laugh so hard. i miss him dearly. so for anybody out their that has a family member out there suffering from this stand by them no matter what! and pary that one day that they do find a cure for this horrible disease and any other one out their. xoxoxoxoxo
Thanks for sharing this great article
